INFORMATION

The increase in the number and size of wind farms, leads inevitably to an increased possibility of interference with nearby radiocommunication, aircraft navigation and radar systems.

Consequences of the electromagnetic interference caused
by wind farms

In cases where the construction of a wind farm causes significant interference on any of the radiocommunication, aircraft navigation or radar systems in the area, generally the developer will be required to assume the expenditure necessary to mitigate such an interference.

In the worst cases, if an aircraft navigation system or radar is interfered with by the nearby construction of a wind farm, it can cause the partial (several turbines) or total denial the construction permit for the wind farm.
